DSN, The Kidney Foundation, and MORE!!

Hello, Treasures!

Just a few things to catch up:

[ E l l i e ' s   A t t i c ] is now part of the Designer Showcase Network (DSN)! SL residents can subscribe to the DSN free of charge via any DSN kiosk, and choose among 9 channels/categories. The Network then delivers promotional samples from the participating designers to subscribing residents - no more than one per day and channel; randomly selected. We now have a kiosk in the Main Store and I encourage you all to try it! There are some really wonderful gifts being offered through DSN. (I have subscribed through two of my original avatars since early 2009.)
ALSO, [ E l l i e ' s   A t t i c ] was the featured designer for Wednesday, January 26th!! YAYYYY! Check it out here: http://cleverthings.info/dsn/lang/en/

We also now have in-store a donation kiosk for The Kidney Foundation. (It's right behind the GuestBook -- which you need to sign, too!) Please consider dropping in spare lindens whenever possible. You can also make an RL donation via the web, if you'd like.

[ E l l i e ' s   A t t i c ] is continuing to make preparations for the Timeless Treasures Hunt, which we are sponsoring and organizing. Some truly WOW! designers will be offering you fantastic gifts. PLEASE be sure to get yourself into the Timeless Treasures Hunt group so you can stay abreast of what's happening with that. A few early bird gifts have already been distributed through that group... so, if you've not added the group yet, you are missing out!! (It's FREE and you now have 42 group slots!! YAYYYYY!)

The next hunt we will be participating in is the Bourbon Street Debauchery Hunt, starting on February 8th! For this one, we are collaborating with Kohl Staheli of SecondXstasy, to bring you something truly innovative and fun! Of course, it's also in line with the hunt's theme so... it's unlike anything we've produced thus far. (It's right up Kohl's alley, though, so he's leading the way and being gentle with us.)  *cough, cough *  ... Where was I...?  Oh yes!

It will ultimately be a 'lite' version of a new line of products coming this Spring! The way the item is presented will be a bit unique as well. (More details to come as we feel it's safe to reveal them without having our ideas ripped off, frankly.)

Group gift will be switched out in less than a week so grab yours at the store while you can, if you haven't already. Also, if you haven't yet checked out EaHH and visited the charity event hall, you're missing out on some great deals (while also making a difference for Australians affected by recent flooding with the lindens you spend). PLEASE get down there before it all ends on February 8th. We have more info at the store but your greatest resource will be HERE.

Just a few new items at the store:

  • ~Digital Downpour, 2 varieties of a scripted wall panel that you have to see in-world to appreciate. Let your curiosity drag your pixels down there!
  • ~The first of a few sound emitters that are great for adding a little subtle ambiance to your home parcel. Very affordable at only L$30.
  • ~Mini-Mania!! Yes, we caved in. So we now have Mini-Mania, regular Midnight Mania, and Lucky Letter boards on both the first AND SECOND floors of the Main Store. Once we get a bigger store, we'll break out the Lucky Chairs we have collecting dust in storage (yes, we DO have attics)!

Come take advantage of our need to buy your love with freebies.  :))

We're wishing you all GOOD THINGS, Treasures!

XOXO,

~Ellie (and Addy, too!)~

SunCatchers and Stained Glass Windows!

Got a "wild hair" and decided to play around with stained glass.
We now have circular stained glass windows of a few different
designs/colors and varying transparencies of the glass work.

We also have 6 different SunCatchers available now.   :)

CLICK THE IMAGE BELOW TO ANIMATE IT!

Photos and animations do NOT do them justice so you should really come down to the main store to see them. The SunCatchers are also on The Marketplace already. (Stained glass windows may or may not get there soon.... SO busy with RL right now).

Still going strong at the "Extend a Helping Hand" Event with 3 Ellie's Attic products in vendors now, ALL donating between 50% and 100% of sales going to the cause. See previous blog post for details.) There are a LOT of great things on sale down at the event hall. PLEASE check it out! Anything you buy will HELP those in need.

We're also still receiving commitments from designers to participate in the Timeless Treasures Hunt!! :))  See that blog for all the good news!

Out of time again, already-- Gotta flyyyyyy!!

XOXO,
~Ellie~

~~~~~~~~~~~PLEASE READ BELOW!!~~~~~~~~~~~
-= About the Cause =-
Extend a Helping Hand is an event put together by Sanura Sakai to raise funds for the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal. The aim is to provide support and assistance to those Queenslanders affected by the recent massive flooding.
The flooding has already affected 22 towns, as of January 1st, and has forced many from their homes. It has had a devastating effect on many people's lives and livelihoods. An area larger than Germany and France combined has been affected by the flood-waters, and the impact will still be felt for some time to come.
Just to give you some idea about the effect of the floods in the town of Bundaberg, visit http://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Bundy-Floods-2010/176597162370872?v=photos
To read more about the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal, to which all funds raised by this event will go, please visit http://www.qld.gov.au/floods/. You can also donate directly, if you so desire, through the information provided on that site.
To provide complete transparency to this process, transaction history for all donations will be provided at the close of the event at http://katjohnston.com. Kat Johnston is the real life name of Sanura Sakai, who will be running the event.
-= The Quick Details =-
The Extend a Helping Hand Market will be held from January 11th through to January 31st, though donation vendors and donation booths may be available sooner at individual stores across the grid - the Market is a central area for the event, but we're hoping that people will participate in their own mainstores and other locations also. Money raised will be donated to the Premier's Disaster Relief Appeal to assist those affected by the Queensland floods.
You can join the Extend a Helping Hand Subscription Group to keep updated for the duration of the event, and to receive notifications when vendors release new donation items.
A regularly updated list of stores and their landmarks will be available at http://katjohnston.com once people have set up a donation item or donation booth.
-= Get Involved =-
IM or drop a notecard on Sanura Sakai to receive a full informatrion package on becoming a participant. You might want to put on an event, promote the cause, provide donation items, become a donation point or blog about the event. Can you think of another way to get involved? Let me know!
-= About the Organizer =-  (In her own words!)
"We all like to know who it is that we're trusting with the funds we donate, so let me tell you a bit about myself.
"My real life name is Kat Johnston. I'm an artist based in Queensland, Australia and have established myself as a creator in Second Life since 2008 with my store, Sanu. The split scripts will allocate the amounts donated through the vendors to an alt created under my own real life name: KatJohnston Resident. As mentioned, there will be complete transparency with this process, so you may feel confident that your money will end up with the Premier's Disaster Relief Fund when this event is over.
"This particular cause is close to my heart, as all of my immediate family is located in Bundaberg. It is one of the major epicentres of the flooding. It is my sincere hope that by raising money here in Second Life towards the Premier's Disaster Relief Fund, I and the others who contribute can make a difference to the lives of those who have been changed by this flood."
